ACO 5.0 - Coding Altino Cars

Coding can play as an important skill to know because there might be different situations in which coding may come into play. For example if you need to get rid of a computer virus and you need to decode a code, that's where coding can and probably will come into play. Or for instance you find yourself entering the army as a computer programmer, and you need to send a secret coded message to a base somewhere, coding will also come into play in that type of situation. Although you may not decided to become a programmer in the future as a career. But having the skills of coding and background understanding of it can just be a good skill to know. So our first task was to complete Challenge #1 which a test to see if we could safely get our Altino car around the figure 8 course. But the only was to get the car to go, turn and stop, was by using coding and using the commands.
"STEERING" well, is basically which directions you want your wheels to go. "GO" was a command used to make the Altino car go a certain speed. And "DELAY" was a command used to make the car stop running the coded loop. Otherwise the car would continuously running the loop. I felt like working the process of trial and error really helped me get a better understanding of what it takes to be good at coding. Every time we made a mistake we would go back and re-look what the code was and where the error is and fix it.

Describe the new commands that were required to successfully complete Challenge #2 (While Loop, Array, Display Line, Sound). Would you ever trust an autonomous vehicle to give you a ride... please explain your answer. Do you think autonomous vehicles will be used in the future to carry out complex tasks like an ambulance responding to accidents... why or why not?

For this 2nd Challenge I was absent but, the goal for this Challenge, we were to complete an atonomous challenge was to make our car be an ambulance and make it go

ACO 3.0 - Art and Design

The Elements of Art that are used in my digital Still Life painting we're Line, Value & Texture. Line helps to outline your image. Basically like tracing. Value adds a sense of depth to your image. Or it can have an affect on making your image look realistic. And last but not least Texture, added shadows and line patches to the image. So with all those Elements of Art are used in my Still Life painting, the end result made my image POP! The relationships between the sizes of my texture brush and controlling the value scale of your image is that both should make your chosen image, look like its been drawn by hand. The smaller the brush the brush the more your image will look lighter and have more detail. The bigger the brush the more your image will have less detail and have a darker affect to it. From doing this project I feel, in my own personal opinion, that's it probably been the best project so far. It's definitely given me a better understanding on how the photo shop works and how digital media is really useful and helpful. But the parts that we had to go through all those steps just to make the image look like a pencil drawing, I feel like that was probably the most challenging.

My Landscape image was taken at Kalihiwai lookout. I decided to take my landscape image here because the sunset was amazing and it was my only option for this assignment. Well just from looking at my Still image and my Landscape image, I can really notice that I definitely spent a lot more time on working with my Landscape image. My Still image does show Line, Value & Texture,  but my Landscape image shows a lot more of these Elements of Art because I decided to put more effort and patience into this image. So what I can definitely learn from looking at these two photos is that one clearly shows Texture, Line & Value and the other not as much. And maybe next time, stay a little bit ahead of my game and really put some more effort and Elements into my Still image so it can come out just as well as my Landscape image. My technique of creating a pencil related drawing by using a computer, I feel like I did pretty good for starter's and that maybe over time as I get better, I can possibly go into more advanced projects that has to do with more Elements of Art.

So finally for my Portrait image I decided to use my younger sister " Nanea " because, to be honest, I didn't really want to be looking at my face for this section of the Art & Design. And plus she has a really challenging complexion so that's why I decided to use her as my Portrait image. My photo of my sister was taken by our wooden fence because I though it added a fairly nice background. And with the perfect timing of the sunrise shining on her face, I just thought it would add the perfect combination of texture and value to the image.
In my personal opinion, I didn't realize that a lot of people would give me a 2 for my Landscape photo as well as my Portrait photo. I feel like I did pretty well on my Landscape photo, but by the looks of my critique I didn't do as well. Also what I pointed out is that my Portrait and Still life were about 3/4 of the way done. I did start to feel like I was kinda behind in this project. But I also felt like a gave a lot of patience and effort into trying to make all 3 of these pictures look like a pencil drawing. But overall, I'm a bit of both. I do agree and I don't agree with what my critique results came out to. In addition to this possibly the next time I get an assignment in this type of area, maybe I can stay with the class or even work a little more forward.

ACO 5.0 - Audio Production

To keep the audience entertained when you are presenting a project of some sort, inotation and inflection plays a big role. How does it play a big role in presenting? One of the many reasons is that it uses people voices. Inotation means the rise and fall of peoples voices. So what that basically is that the way people see words that can be used with either a deep voice or a high voice. Depending on what is happening in the audio or project. Inflection on the other hand, is describe as the change in a form of a word so that you can express feeling and emotion into it. An example of this can be heard in people acting for a large audience whether it's talking, singing or even just people reading something. So how these two words can be used to maintain your audiences attention is that, you as a the speaker or actor/actress, can use emotion and expression in high or low tones, to give it feeling. Like the audience is there in that scenario. For this assignment I was the main vocal talent. What this job required me to do is use emotion and expression and put it into my speaking. And to have the audience entertained on what was happening. The rehearsals we're very important because they could help warm up my voice so that there was no jagged tones while I'm speaking. And its also important because if your only taking your script it adds a lot of pressure. So that's why its very important to rehearse.
I feel like after my group got critiqued I noticed that our "Audio Book" could've been shorter. Even though its an audio book and audio books are usually long, I felt that our group could've went straight to the point. In our classroom I noticed that people were falling asleep, and many were doing other things. Some obstacles that I had to over come in this project is having my voice be heard. Why is that a big deal? well I've honestly liked presenting, being videoed, or having my voice recorded for school projects. I feel like that's something I should over come because in the future I might have a situation in which I will have my voice be recorded or get videoed. So I'm slowing working on that. What I think me and my group could improve on is making sure we get straight to the point and making our audio shorter.

ACO 6.0 - Proprietary Information

The FCC is a group of people that are allowed to look over all communication areas in the U.S.(all 50 states). They have control of all technology that people use in their everyday life and how they get their connections to others. Some examples included the radio's, TVs, wires, satellites, & cables. Copyright infringement is basically access, that allows a person to use a bit of info, or something ,that has been created and published by the original artists. Some examples of not following the copyright law can lead to consequences like civil lawsuits, and criminal charges. Damaged reputation which will be hard to get a job. And in addition from getting all these consequences this can lead you to lose your money. Which would put you in a state of bankruptcy. How you can legally copyright a material is by you using the original material and redesign it and improve it to have a new unique design. The term fair can be describe as a way of copying copyright material and giving the original artists a comment on their work or to criticize them on certain things. Two ways that a someone can do this legally, without permission, is if your the copyright owner. Or if a person uses qualifies as a fair use. Then that will not count as a copyright infringement.

Now confidentiality is a way a person can keep certain things that are very important, private or keep secret. Three things that a person should keep secret is first:"Their social security number". Second: "A persons credit card number". And last but not least "A persons amount of money that is being held in their bank account". Social media can have a impact on a person confidentiality because someone can link onto your phone or what ever technology that a persons using a watch them on a screen. And even see what they are looking at. They could look at all the private pictures, download them and then post them online for everyone else to see. In my own personal opinion I feel like the use of censorship should be required for people that use any type of technology or for anything in general. Because many people that have access to certain materials on line can search things that are very offensive and so I feel like that needs to monitored. How this can be related the the first amendment , is that people have the right to say what they feel should be taken control of and what shouldn't. But this does also affect people's 5th amendment which is"people's right to privacy". How this affects certain people today is that, what ever they need to search up, let's say, for research purposes, other's feel that is offensive and so they have someone take control of it.

ACO 2.0 - Market Shifts

Well the word "market" is one of the many varieties of systems that can involve, people building social relations. Or it can be where things are created and sold. for example people can sell products that involve technology(computers, TVs , phones, or even I pads) So how market shifts change can over time as technology develop is by people wanting the use and easiness of technology to help them with their jobs or companies. For example, teachers today use projectors to help them teach a large group of kids. Or another example can be photographer editing their photos on a computer to help the picture look better and very well done to someones perspective. So has technology continues to become more advanced, many people will start to use technology everyday of their life. What I would like to improve on the Arts & Communications industry is my communication skills and understanding technology. I feel like I need to improve in those areas because both play a big role in the everyday world. Communicating with people is a way to build up relations.

In the Arts & Communications industry, I would like to improve on my presenting skills the most. Why? well I feel like presenting plays a big part of this type of industry because when someone is hosting a conference and you are asked to be the presenter, you must speak loud and clearly so people can understand you and get important information. I feel like communication is a skill that is very helpful because with my senior project coming up next year I need to learn to gain some skill. This skill can be useful in the future because speaking in front a board of people can give you better chances of selling a product in the market rather then showing it in a e-mail or just sending a slide. Most people will think that if you confront them about something, then that shows that you are committed to something.

ACO 4.0 - Communication Strategies

I feel like the way I communicate with other people, changes so I can make a good impression. For example, when I talk with my siblings I will talk nicer. But when have a conversation with my parents, who know me the best, I act more mature and I speak more formally. In any given situation I feel the most comfortable talking to my mom. Well as my mom, she can understand where I come from sometimes. It not always easy talking to my mom because she is a tough person. But since she is a woman that has been through lots of different situations, that I will soon experience to, she can give me pointers. Well I'm most uncomfortable in situations that involve presenting in front of a large group of people. One main reason is that I get nervous like most people, but its mostly because I will stutter or freeze while I'm giving a speech. But as of right now I am working on that area and hopefully to become more comfortable with presenting.

After I graduate, I would like to enter the area of Architecture. To me it seems like a interesting field that could help me unlock a lot of my potential. Since I could remember, I always enjoyed drawing anything, from houses to cities or just doodling. But for some reason, I got really into drawing cities from a birds eye-view and everything would be seen in X-ray. So you could see inside of of all the cars and buildings and houses. And so that's why I would really like to get more into the field of Architecture. And I feel like it could set me on the right path for my career choice. The communication skills I need to become a good Architect is explain how certain things can work, and how some can't. I feel that , even though architects draw, and create "plans", they also need to be able to explain their work and how it can be successful. So presenting plays a pretty big role in that area.
